Friday check in: field trip! from With Strings Attached


Yesterday we headed north to see the Victoria Findlay Wolfe retrospective exhibit at the Wisconsin Museum of Quilts and Fiber Arts .   

Wow!  My husband was impressed, too.  


Her grandfather and grandmother.

Her grandmother made the quilt on the lower right with polyester pieces appliqued onto a red and white sheet.  She had severe arthritis and sewing was difficult.

Victoria Findlay Wolfe's Sharp Stripe Fabric Makes a Stunning Mask from Selvage Blog


I love the color and design of Victoria Findlay Wolfe's Sharp Stripe fabric. If Jackie O. was sailing off the Cape today, she'd be wearing this mask, don't you think? It's a nice combination of classic and modern. Wait, you don't need to wear a mask when you're sailing!

My First Quiltcon from Sew Preeti Quilts

I was going to write a short description with a few pictures from Quiltcon. Or so I thought.
But Quiltcon exceeded all my expectations and it therefore deserves a full post of its own.

Sunday at Quiltcon

I dropped off the completed flimsies at the collection point next to registration.  The blocks were overflowing from the table, when I handed her my contribution.
Woman 1 - How are they going to take everything back?
Woman 2 - It is a good problem to have.

I silently wished there wasn't a need for these blocks/quilts.
